What to do with a tree full of short shoots?
Such a tree needs pruning to stimulate growth. When a tree produces only short shoots, it’s a sign it’s not growing thicker. While it may bloom beautifully and bear plenty of fruit, the fruits will be small because the tree can’t adequately nourish them. By thinning out the tree, you’ll allow the root system to outgrow the crown, encouraging overall growth. This way, the tree will produce fewer but larger, tastier, and more vibrant fruits.
