Rotting or stunted zucchinis are usually not a sign of disease — they’re a signal that it’s time to harvest more often! Make sure to remove two types of fruits regularly:

  • Large fruits – so the smaller zucchinis have enough energy to grow. If big ones stay on the plant too long, nearby flowers can even become sterile.

  • Small fruits that stop growing – zucchini often drop these when they can’t provide enough nutrients. These are the ones that usually start to rot.

👉 Two extra tips:

  • Watch out for slugs! Once something starts rotting, they’ll appear quickly. Keep an eye on your plants and protect them in time.

  • Feed your plants well: zucchinis are heavy feeders. Regular fertilizing keeps them strong and productive.
