What can go into a compost bin?
✅ Fruit and vegetable scraps
✅ Coffee grounds and tea leaves
✅ Grass clippings and garden waste
✅ Eggshells
✅ Shredded cardboard and paper

🚫 What to avoid:
❌ Meat, dairy, and cooked food (they attract pests)
❌ Diseased plants
❌ Glossy paper or synthetic materials

How to compost successfully?

  • Layer green (wet, nitrogen-rich) and brown (dry, carbon-rich) materials

  • Keep the compost moist – like a wrung-out sponge

  • Turn it every 3–4 weeks to aerate and speed up the process

  • Make sure your bin is placed in a warm, shaded spot
