Growing tomatoes directly in the ground? Great choice – but to get a strong harvest, they need the right care.
Here’s what Gregory recommends:
Sun & spacing – Tomatoes love sun and airflow. Avoid overcrowding.
Support – Use stakes or cages to keep plants upright.
Prune side shoots (suckers) regularly to focus energy on fruit.
Water deeply but not too often – and avoid wetting the leaves.
Feed every 10–14 days with a potassium-rich fertilizer during fruiting.
With a little consistency, your tomato plants will reward you with sweet, juicy fruits well into late summer.
