Good day! Check out our list of your ways to deal with naked slugs. If your lilies seem nibbled even before emerging from the ground or your leafy vegetables have nibbled leaves, you probably have the unpleasantness of hosting naked slugs in your garden.

This type of slug can really eat a lot in one night, so it's really good to protect yourself from these gluttons as soon as possible :)

🐌1 way: birds!

Invite birds to your garden! How? In spring and summer, hang a nesting box in the garden and set up a bird feeder. In winter, hang a bird feeder. This way, birds will like to be in your garden and will eat various pests, including slugs. Which birds especially like slugs? Thrushes, starlings, magpies, blackbirds.

🐌2 way: copper tape and/or aluminum foil

Copper adhesive tape for slugs is available on the market. Copper tape utilizes the static electricity present in nature. When a slug touches the copper tape, an imperceptible electrostatic charge is generated, which forces the slug to retreat. Aluminum foil will also work similarly.

🐌3 way: hedgehogs

They also like to nibble on slugs. Invite hedgehogs to your garden by placing hedgehog houses and leaving a pile of leaves in autumn somewhere on the sidelines of the garden.

🐌4 way: cinnamon

Sprinkle cinnamon around the area of your favorite slug plants :)

🐌5 way: rosemary, lavender, mint

If you can, plant one of these around your favorite slug plants :)

🐌6 way: slowworms!

If you see a slowworm in your garden, don't chase it away, don't remove it :) It also likes to eat slugs :)

🐌7 way: shrews and frogs

Treat them the same way as slowworms, as they also love slugs.

🐌8 way: beer

Dig jars/bowls into the garden and pour beer into them. You'll quickly see how strongly beer can attract slugs with its aroma.

🐌9 way: needles, pine cones, basalt meal, eggshells

Slugs don't like this type of surface, they won't decide to go further if they encounter them on their way.

🐌10 way - bonus method: cardboard

Yes, lay several cardboard pieces on top of each other, moisten with water, and leave overnight. Slugs will crawl underneath for a nap. Then, the next day, you just remove them far from your garden.

Bonus: ready-made granules and traps for catching slugs are available on the market.
