Winter pruning is essential if you want strong, fruit-bearing grapevines next season. Without regular pruning, vines become tangled and less productive.

When to prune?
In late winter, between January and March, before the sap starts to rise – but after the hardest frosts have passed.

How to prune?
✂️ Cut back last year’s growth to 1–3 buds per shoot.
🔪 Remove weak or damaged canes entirely.
🌿 Keep the structure open and balanced for airflow and light.

Don’t worry if it looks drastic – less is more when pruning grapevines!
