Autumn Pruning (October):

  • Remove faded flower clusters

  • Cut dry, unproductive shoots (“stumps”)

  • Shorten weak shoots that didn’t bloom and are unlikely to bloom next season

  • Thin small side shoots from the middle of the crown – these can even be rooted in October

👉 Do the autumn pruning before moving the oleander indoors for winter. Place it in a cool room (5–10 °C) or in your living room – in warmer conditions it will thicken faster.

Spring Pruning:

  • Prune stronger, older or weak shoots, and any that block potential flowering shoots

  • Cut about 1.5 cm above a dormant bud
This strengthens the root system and directs energy to strong, flowering-ready shoots.

💡 Note: In winter, oleander leaves often drop – this is completely normal.
